Did you know that at the rate we are living the earth will soon be inhabitable because of us? Temperatures are breaking records around the world. Arctic sea ice and glaciers are melting, Sea levels are rising at their fastest rate in 2,000 years and two-thirds of the great barrier reef has been damaged as a result of climate change. We are so glad to be able to play a part in promoting water conservation at the ripples booth through our instant photo booth that many enjoyed during the event!
What was the event about?
Earth Hour 2019 is Singapore’s largest festival for nature. It aims to encourage the local community to build a city of conscious citizens that have a passion to drive a major change for nature. This year earth hour had multiple booths and vendors all rooting for the same cause of building sustainable earth. There are stores selling zero waste food products and household items. Different booths were also available where kids can learn more about saving the earth. Some offer free caricatures, body painting, and our booth by ripples provided a free Instant Photobooth! On top of all that there was also a spectacular line up of the best local acts. Local icons such as Charmaine Yee, Preetipls, Tabitha Nauser, and even Sezairi were spotted at the event!
Our Instant Photo Booth Complimented the Event
We are grateful to be a part of the event through WWF’s ripples movement. Ripple is a movement by WWF to “stir up the change” in water conservation. They believe that without water, there would be no life. It fuels our farms, sustains our rural communities and megacities, and underpins our economies. But water does not come from the tap. Ultimately, people and nature rely on healthy rivers. With that, they want to spread the word on water conservation and get our community more aware of what they can do to keep our water supply sustainable. Everyone who came into our instant photo booth thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The kids fell in love with the different props available. The most popular was definitely the turtle and the panda. The adults loved the print out that they would be able to take home as a memory of that event.
Personally, I feel that brochures don’t do as well these days. Many people wouldn’t keep brochures but they would keep a photo of themselves because it has a sentimental value to it. So why not combine both into an instant print. Having both a photo of yourself and a brochure, that’s something people would keep. This is a great way to spread the word on water conservation, one that people would keep and cherish. With a message that is kept this also increases the chances of individuals acting on that message.
We are so thankful to be a part of such a meaningful event. With over a 1000 prints have impacted many people over the two-day event with our Instant PhotoBooth!
