End of year review videos are really important for any organisation. They’re a great way to say thanks to the staff for all their hard work and to highlight the big achievements of the year. Our team recently had the chance to create one such video for JurongHealth Campus, and we want to share how we went about it. We’ll talk about the steps we took to create a video that captures the good stuff that happened this year.

The Vivid Snaps Team
Our team consists of media professional with expertise in video production from pre to post. Consisting of videographers, video editors, director, project coordinators and graphic designer. Our portfolio is focused on corporate clients. And our works ranges from internal communication videos, brand story videos, virtual & hybrid events and corporate photography.
The Brief
For JurongHealth Campus, the Year In Review video is a yearly affair featuring their senior leadership and staff. The main objective of the video is to foster the JurongHealth Campus (JHC) spirit, instilling pride within the JHC staff, and expressing gratitude while celebrating their hard work and achievements. Simultaneously, the video needed to showcase teamwork and emphasise how JHC staff cares for one another and the people they serve. Our clients also specifically highlighted the importance of adopting a more relaxed and enjoyable approach, aiming to showcase the leaders in a personable manner. Additionally, considering that the upcoming year marks the organisation’s 15th anniversary, there was a distinct need for the video to possess a unique and standout quality compared to the videos from the past few years.
Our Concept
In the concept we’re putting forward, our aim is to infuse the video with an authentic and genuine vibe. To achieve this, we’ve decided to steer clear of teleprompters for our interviews. By avoiding them, we hope to capture more spontaneous and real responses from the individuals involved.
Additionally, to present the leaders in a more personable light, we’ve envisioned scenes where they navigate through the campus, engaging with various staff members. The idea is to showcase them in natural, everyday interactions, fostering a connection that goes beyond the formalities. This approach not only adds a touch of authenticity to the video but also allows the audience to see the leaders in relatable situations, reinforcing a sense of approachability and camaraderie within the organisation.
The Challenge
A standout element in our concept is involving the staff creating and revealing the 15th-anniversary logo on a transparent surface. Since this was a novel idea for us, we dedicated a lot of effort into making it truly special. Delving into research and experimentation, we committed ourselves to discover the most effective methods for setting up the transparent surface.
Through a series of trials and explorations, we not only determined the optimal way to rig the clear surface securely but also delved into experimenting with various drawing tools. This iterative process allowed us to identify the drawing mediums that would translate the essence of the 15th anniversary most effectively on screen. The dedication to this creative endeavour showcases our commitment to delivering a visually striking and memorable element for JurongHealth Campus’s milestone celebration.
Filming and Production of the Video
In addition to the creative challenges mentioned earlier, we had to coordinate with a large group of staff members as well. Considering we were filming in a hospital, it was crucial to ensure that our work didn’t disrupt their daily operations. Despite a tight filming schedule, through meticulous planning and ongoing communication with our clients, we successfully tackled these logistical challenges. During the shoot, we stayed committed to the plan, ensuring that our work was impactful and finished on time.
Knowing that we will have a tight deadline as the video needed to be finished and published on the last day of the year. Our editor started to work on the animations required in the video concurrently while the filming is still ongoing. This enables our animations to be on the same page as the clients ahead of time and save us some time when editing. Afterwards, our team dedicated hours to the editing process, engaging in multiple revisions to meticulously refine the video. We maintained constant communication with the clients throughout, ensuring that our vision aligned seamlessly with their expectations. Through prompt and clear communication, we expedited the editing process, guaranteeing a final product that met both our standards and the clients’ expectations right up until the very end.
The Final Product: CEO Memo Video
Director: Jackson Ho | Producer: Ledon Lim | Director of Photography: Melvin Mak | Camera Assistants: Brian Teo, Benjamin Low | Production Assistant: Jaeden Yeo | Sound: Eugene Ng | Editor & Animator: Zoel Heng
Ultimately, we express our gratitude for being afforded the chance to contribute to this significant milestone for JurongHealth Campus. Being a part of this endeavour has been a meaningful experience for our team, allowing us to play a role in capturing and commemorating a pivotal moment in JHC’s journey. We appreciate the trust and collaboration extended to us, and it has been an honour to work on a project that marks such a noteworthy point in the organisation’s history!
