The Unexpected
Life is full of surprises. Sometimes it is the unexpected that hits hard, bringing us down. Based on a true story, we were able to re-enact an event that occurred to a local family. Setting up the scene wasn’t like usual. Lighting was the most crucial element as it sets the mood and time of the day. We used special lighting techniques to enhance specific elements in the frame of the shot. Like creating a lamp light effect in the bedroom scene. Handheld camera effects were important as it helped to give the feel of the character’s movement.
Disability Blindness Family Story Video
Most of us have a unique story of our family, and these stories form an important part of our lives. In this emotional family story video we did in October 2022. The story is told through the daughter’s point of view and flashbacks from the past. Seeing her father deteriorate through his suffering from diabetes and how the family copes with it during those tough times.
Audio was important in this video as it has a number of dialogues. We used a couple of methods to clean up the voice recordings. The music piece that we have chosen, compliments the visuals to evoke lasting emotions to the audience. A bunch of off screen sound effects were used in this film to tell more than visuals.

My Neighbourhood, A Family Story Video
Growing up in a neighbourhood that is stigmatised as being one of the poorest places in Singapore can be heartbreaking at times. In this video, a young teenager shares about her family and experience growing up. The creative use of motion graphics in this video makes it lighthearted and engaging. At a young age, Gloria was taken in by foster parents who would shelter her and give her all the necessities she needed in order to have a normal life. In life we would always make mistakes. Sometimes these selfish mistakes cost us everything, teaching us a valuable life lesson we would never forget. In this cinematic shot film, we dive into a young boy who made a selfish mistake of wanting a bicycle that his family couldn’t afford. Through his rebellious actions, it caused the family to lose everything. The film is shot with primarily low key lighting. Setting the mood and tone of the scene. The film also explores a variety of unique camera angles such as bird’s eye view and worm’s eye view.
