Emotional stories are often used in insurance video production. They are a powerful way to connect with the viewer and to tell a story that will resonate with them. Many companies have used emotional stories in their videos. These companies use emotional stories to help viewers understand their products better and make them feel more connected. Unsung Hero Emotional Story Video
Thailand is undoubtedly known for their TVC ads and commercials being emotional. Perhaps one of the best Thai insurance videos is “Unsung Hero”. This film spreads a very strong narrative message of giving more than receiving. Doing good deeds grants happiness at a different level. The film creatively uses less of camera movements but instead sells the story through the individual unique characters. Lighting was used in specific moments to push the emotions of the characters. Location and wardrobe played a huge role in this film that suggests the characters background stories.
Happiness in Emotional Story Video
Melody of Life is another one of the ads of Thai life Insurance. In this particular video, sadness is not the key emotion but rather happiness. The story depicts three orphans who are taken in by a widow. She looks after them but soon discovers she has cancer. Despite suffering from cancer, she made use of her time to the fullest with her children. The film sends a strong message on the value of life and not to waste every precious moment of it.
Conclusion
As one of the most important industries in the world, creating such videos would spread the message across the country or around the globe on the importance of having insurance in life. Although such videos are short and mostly used as TVC ads, it is a common misconception that such films are easy to do or take little manpower. In fact in such productions it usually takes 7 crew members to create these wonderful films/videos.
With that said there are many challenges that filmmakers face when on “set”. Some common challenges that they face can be, for example, taking the Thai short film <Unsung Hero>. There are many scenes that were shot along the roadside. The sound of traffic would be a major issue for the sound recordist. To counteract this, the timing of the day and the location of the shoot would play a huge part in reducing the traffic noise.
It is important that we know what outcome we want in the video which we can then work from there to achieve the best results. Making films and videos is an enjoyable experience/process. After all the preparation and production, it is the outcome that makes it all worth it.
