Introduction to Vivid Snaps
Vivid Snaps is a Singapore media company which specialises in photography and videography. Established in 2011, we have a range of experienced services including live streaming services, corporate video production, remote video production, event videography, event photography and corporate photography.
Role of a Video Producer
A video producer has to conceptualise video production and assist in video production and live streaming productions. We also assist the Project Coordinators to execute a successful video production.

Experience from a Video Producer Intern
Why did you want to intern at Vivid Snaps?
I wanted to join Vivid Snaps because I was intrigued about experiencing a different type of media outside of school, like live streaming and commercial videos. Also, I wanted to learn more about producing in the corporate world. I thought it would be a really valuable opportunity for me to learn lots of skills.
What to expect being a video producer?
I feel that new interns can expect to communicate with diverse clients by being exposed to their requirements and desires. The best way to learn is through experience. Throughout the internship, you would have many opportunities to come up with ideas for video projects. During shoots, you will get some real hands-on experience as you get to work alongside and learn from the seasoned videographers and media professionals.
What lessons have you learnt during the internship?
I learnt more about how to work with people who are not comfortable being in front of the camera. In Polytechnic, I would work with professional actors so this was a very different experience. Therefore, I learnt how to adapt to many different people and to make them feel more comfortable. Something I also learnt was to be more outspoken when talking to our clients. When I first started my internship, I was shy and hesitant to talk to people. I did not dare to talk to our clients, unless it was necessary. Eventually, I was involved in more projects where I was able to take initiative to interact with our clients.
What lessons that you learnt in school were helpful during your internship?
Technical aspects of what I learnt from school, such as setting up the audio and tripod, were definitely useful during production. My soft skills were also tested during this internship. Showing initiative and the importance of teamwork were skills that I picked up through group projects in school and these were highly beneficial when helping my colleagues. It was also essential in adapting to the company’s workflow and style.
What is the most valuable takeaway during an internship?
The most valuable takeaway was communicating with clients through emails. Even though I learnt about email etiquette in school, internship gave a more in-depth learning experience about to effectively convey information to clients through emails. Also, I learnt the importance of writing emails to understand the client’s requirements which ensures that you and the client understand one another. With what I had learnt at Vivid Snaps, I can write emails confidently and use that skill in the near future.
Do you have one tip for future interns?
One key tip is to have an open mindset throughout your internship journey and you’ll definitely learn lots along the way. During your internship, you will have the opportunity to learn different roles relevant to the media industry.
